Can Savastat LC be implemented in conjunction with Zone
Optimizers?
Yes, however since the zone optimizer will be cutting hot
water supply off to various zones as programmed into the unit,
reduced savings will be achieved.
We have conducted numerous case studies in facilities which
incorporate zone optimizers, and have found the typical savings
still achieved to be in the 8% to 10% range. This is still
fairly decent savings, however the return on investment will be
somewhat longer. If fuel consumption for the facility is at
least $15k per year, and a sinigle boiler is providing the hot water
heat, the unit will still cost justify itself quite easily, and
should achieve an ROI of under 2 years. If multiple boilers
are used, adjust the consumption accordingly. Thus, if two
boilers are employed, annual fuel spend of $30k will cost justify
easily, and in most cases provide a payback of under 2 years.
Most organizations will find savings in this range to be
satisfactory to move forward with Savastat LC implementations in
these applications.
